Visit Big Sky's 2026 Fall Dining Guide shows the shoulder season hitting Big Sky's two village cores differently. Town Center keeps a group of kitchens and markets open every day and closes its other restaurants in a staggered pattern. Meadow Village Center keeps its grocery and a weekday-morning coffee bar. Its two sit-down restaurants, Michaelangelo's Ristorante and Olive B's, close for most of October and November and reopen in the days before the Christmas Stroll begins there on December 11.
From mid-October until early December, most dinners out in these two neighborhoods happen in Town Center. Then the meals and the holiday calendar both shift back down to Meadow Village within about one week.
Meadow Village Center Keeps the Market and the Morning
Meadow Village Center has four entries in the guide. Two of them stay open through the fall.
- Country Market is open every day from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Hero Snow Coffee serves Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to noon. It also takes two shorter breaks, November 2 to 9 and November 23 to 29.
- Olive B's is closed October 16 through December 7. When it's open, it serves weekday lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. The guide recommends reservations.
- Michaelangelo's Ristorante is closed September 27 through December 9, and it also recommends reservations.
From October 16 to December 7, the guide lists no sit-down dinner in Meadow Village Center. Coffee there also runs on a reduced schedule, with weekday mornings only and two weeks off in November. Country Market is the business in this part of the neighborhood with unchanged daily hours.
Town Center's Every-Day Kitchens
The Town Center column of the same guide is much longer. Nine places post hours for every day of the week:
Business | Fall 2026 hours |
|---|---|
Hungry Moose Market & Deli | Daily, 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
Blue Moon Bakery | Daily, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
Roxy's Market | Daily, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
The Rocks Tasting Room | Daily, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. |
Terrain Tacos at Gravity Haus | Daily, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. |
Beehive Basin Brewery | Daily, noon to 10 p.m. |
Pinky G's Pizzeria | Daily, noon to 8 p.m. |
Thai Basil | Monday to Saturday noon to 9 p.m., Sunday noon to 8 p.m. |
The Wilson Lobby Bar | Daily from 3 p.m., food service Sunday and Monday |
Several more places keep weekday or partial-week schedules. Caliber Coffee is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. BYWOM serves Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Milkies Pizza & Pub opens weekdays from 4 to 9 p.m., and Block 3 serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m., with reservations recommended. Tips Up runs Monday and Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and from 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Two markets, a bakery, a brewery, a tasting room, and pizza, tacos and Thai cover breakfast through a late dinner on any day of the week. That's why Town Center works as Big Sky's everyday dining core this fall.
Town Center's Closures Come in Waves
Town Center has closures too. They're spread across different weeks, so the set of open restaurants changes from one week to the next. Here are the posted dates, listed in the order each place comes back:
Business | Closed through | Open again from |
|---|---|---|
Ousel & Spur | Oct. 3 to Nov. 1 | Nov. 2 |
The Waypoint | Nov. 3 to Nov. 10 | Nov. 11 |
The Wrap Shack | Oct. 23 to mid-November | Mid-November |
Unravel Coffee at Gravity Haus | Nov. 9 to Nov. 23 | Nov. 24 |
Scoops | Sept. 23 to Nov. 27 | Nov. 28 |
Big Sky Noodles | Sept. 27 to Dec. 2 | Dec. 3 |
Alberto's | Oct. 24 to Dec. 4 | Dec. 5 |
The dates fit together in a useful way. Ousel & Spur's closure runs through November 1, so it reopens on November 2, one day before The Waypoint's week-long break starts on November 3. On its regular schedule, The Waypoint serves Wednesday through Monday from 5 to 10 p.m. and closes Tuesdays. Ousel & Spur serves daily from 5 p.m. once it's back, and the guide recommends reservations. The two closures don't overlap, so from November 2 onward at least one of these dinner rooms is open every night.
Alberto's is the last of these to reopen, after a closure that runs through December 4. Before its break begins on October 24, it serves lunch from noon to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to close, Tuesday through Saturday, plus Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visit Big Sky asks businesses to report any errors in their listings. The guide reflects posted plans, and a business can always change its hours. A quick call before heading out for a specific dinner is a good habit through November.
The Calendar Between Restaurant Seasons
The fall's events are concentrated in Town Center as well, mostly at BASE and on the plaza.
The 2026 Haunted Peaks Halloween Festival runs October 30 to November 1 in Town Center. According to the festival's event page, the program includes the Skull & Roses Ball, a Día de los Muertos celebration, a Mini Monster Mash for kids, costume events, horror films and a 5K/10K haunted run. On the first afternoon, October 30, the Big Sky Community Organization holds a Costume Climb at BASE from 4 to 6 p.m. The festival ends the day before Ousel & Spur reopens, so dinner that weekend is from Town Center's everyday kitchens and The Waypoint.
BASE also hosts a Veterans Day Breakfast on November 11, according to BSCO's events calendar.
The Warren Miller Performing Arts Center has a fall program spread across the full shoulder season:
- Jeki Yoo, magic, Sunday, October 18
- Doublewide, Texas, a two-night play opening Thursday, November 5
- Luca Stricagnoli, Sunday, November 15
- Her Gift, Her Creation, a celebration of Big Sky women's creativity and community, Saturday, December 5
- Montana Ballet Company's The Nutcracker, two performances on Sunday, December 13
Outdoors, BSCO lists Ousel Falls Trail as open all year. The trail isn't groomed and can get icy in winter, and BSCO recommends traction devices or snowshoes in snowy or icy conditions. The Marty Pavelich Ice Rink at Big Sky Community Park, 25 Seeway Road, offers open skating, pickup hockey and social curling once it's running. Its page doesn't list an opening date for this season yet.
The Week Meadow Village Reopens
Meadow Village Center's dining and its holiday events both return in the second week of December, a few days apart:
- Monday, December 7: last day of Olive B's closure
- Wednesday, December 9: last day of Michaelangelo's Ristorante closure
- Friday, December 11: the Big Sky Christmas Stroll begins in Meadow Village Center
- Saturday, December 12: the Stroll continues in Town Center, with photos with Santa at BASE
- Sunday, December 13: The Nutcracker at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center
According to the posted dates, both of Meadow Village Center's sit-down restaurants are open again before the Stroll begins there. BSCO's Christmas Stroll page has confirmed the weekend but hasn't posted 2026 tree-lighting times. The detailed schedule still online at Visit Big Sky is from 2025, so it isn't a reliable guide to this year's times.
Most of Town Center's closures have ended by then too. Scoops reopens after November 27, Big Sky Noodles after December 2 and Alberto's after December 4, so both village cores are fully open again for the first time since late September. Visit Big Sky's Fall Dining Guide lists every entry with its hours, and it's worth saving on your phone until the second week of December.
The off-season schedules of Big Sky's businesses are part of what owning here actually looks like year-round. If you're considering a home in Town Center or Meadow Village and want to know how each one lives between seasons, Sandy Revisky De Leon is happy to walk you through it. Let's Get Started.
